object & identity

もの と アイデンティティ

Every object carries an identity — a set of choices about material, form, and the world it belongs to. My practice begins with making and extends into meaning: shaping clay, glass, and scent, then building the brands and narratives that give them context. This is the work of moving between the studio and the strategy — between what something is and what it becomes.

Ceramics

陶芸

ceramic practice — 2018–present

Wheel-thrown and hand-built vessels made in Tokyo. Seven years of practice across stoneware and porcelain, shaped by Japanese ceramic traditions and the discipline of repetition. Work that lives between function and expression — cups you drink from, forms you sit with.

Glass

ガラス

Amorphous Objects — jewelry

A jewelry line working with glass as a living material. Each piece is formed by heat and gravity rather than precision tooling — no two are alike. The brand identity, packaging, and retail experience are designed alongside the objects themselves.

Scent

香り

Meirodo / 茗露堂 — launching 2026

A fragrance brand that begins with tea. Meirodo translates the atmosphere, ritual, and raw materials of tea culture into scent — bridging the traditions of Japanese incense and contemporary perfumery. Brand concept, visual identity, and product design developed from the ground up.

About プロフィール

Chong Sara is a ceramicist and creative director based in Tokyo, working between Japan and Singapore. Her work sits at the intersection of craft and brand — making objects by hand, then building the identities, systems, and experiences around them.

She has practiced ceramics for over seven years and brings a background in strategy consulting and brand development. She founded Amorphous Objects, a glass jewelry line, and Meirodo, a tea fragrance brand launching in 2026.

She is interested in how material knowledge shapes creative direction — how the experience of working with clay, glass, and scent informs the way a brand thinks, feels, and communicates.
