object & identity

もの と アイデンティティ

Objects carry memory, intention, and identity. I am interested in how they hold meaning through material, form, and use. My practice moves across clay, glass, and scent, exploring how different mediums can shape feeling, ritual, and the way we relate to the things around us.

ceramic practice — 2018–present

My ceramic practice began in Singapore and has been refined in Japan. It is rooted in repetition, material sensitivity, and everyday use. I make pieces that are meant to be held, used, and lived with.

Amorphous Objects — jewelry

Amorphous Objects is a glass jewelry line in which each piece is shaped by hand by a glass craftsman. The work embraces variation in form and finish, with no two pieces exactly alike. It has been showcased in New York and worn at Milan Fashion Week.

Meirodo / 茗露堂 — launching 2026

Meirodo is a fragrance project that starts with tea and pottery, two interconnected passions of mine. It draws from the materials, rituals, and quiet atmosphere around tea culture, and turns them into rituals of scent and atmosphere. I am developing the concept, visual world, and product direction from the ground up.

About プロフィール

Chong Sara is a ceramicist and creative director based in Tokyo, working between Japan and Singapore. Her practice brings together object making and brand direction, with a focus on how materials, form, and context shape the way something is experienced.

She has practiced ceramics for more than seven years and comes from a background in strategy consulting and brand development. She is the founder of Amorphous Objects, a glass jewelry line, and Meirodo, a tea-based fragrance project launching in 2026.

She is interested in the relationship between material practice and creative direction, and in how working by hand can shape the way a brand looks, feels, and speaks.
